This is another cigar in the outstanding La Garita Cigar Company line. The Petit Belicoso weighs in at 5” x 52 ring gauge and features a Cameroon wrapper with Luis’s traditional blend of Dominican binder and filler.

As usual Luis as produced another gorgeous looking cigar. A brownish grey wrapper with very fine veins, a couple of blemishes, and a little bumpy. I love the rustic look and feel of this cigar. There is a nice give to the cigar that bounces back quickly when squeezed. The scent of the wrapper is very faint and hard to pick up but I would say it smells like sweet tobacco. The foot on the other hand provides an intoxicating aroma of sweet tobacco and alfalfa. There isn’t much flavor on the pre-light draw until you retro hale where you are treated with sweet alfalfa. Lets light this little gem up.

Man with the first puff you can feel the smoke coat the pallet and the flavors are right in my wheelhouse. I love the sweet, citrus spice from the Cameroon wrapper. The retro hale is awesome, it start’s out with some mild spice then there’s a touch of sweetness in the middle and it finishes out with cedar. The finish is long. enjoyable and of sweet tobacco.

The second third picks up right where the first left off. Which is great because this cigar started off nice and smooth with great flavors. Half way through the second third and the spice is starting to pick up. I wouldn’t call it pepper but more like citrus spice. The burn line has been very consistent and is problem free.

The final third saw the ever so slight increase in spice on the pallet and a little tingle in the nose. The finish has added yet another flavor to the mix, a bitter sweet component. Not so much like chocolate more like bitter herbs. I don’t particularly care for a bitter taste in my cigars but this really balances out the blend and adds a new dimension to this all ready great cigar.

Ok let’s wrap this up. I think Luis Falto hit another homerun with this one. This cigar is complex for such a short smoke, the construction was top notch, and the flavors were enjoyable without ever getting harsh or unpleasant. Even down to the nub this Petit Belicoso never got hot and the flavors were still bright and vibrant. Needless to say I enjoyed Reserva Especial Tres Luises Petit Belicoso and am looking forward to my next encounter.
