Aurora Barrel Aged Cigars
La Aurora bringing a new dimension, Barrel Aged, to cigars.
For years, La Aurora cigars has been aging filler and binder
in
40 year old rum barrels for their highly rated
Preferidos,
100 Year Anniversary and 1495 lines.
Now, with the introduction of their premium Barrel Aged cigars,
they have taken the next step.

Brewers, distillers and winemakers know the
importance of letting their spirits rest in oaken barrels to bring out the
best in their efforts. It is the same with tobacco.
All of the tobaccos, including the wrapper are aged in the
rum barrels for one year. La Aurora discovered that the time in the
barrels is well spent, giving the tobaccos the opportunity to naturally
harmonize with each other and allowing the old wood to impart its unique
characteristics on the leaves. In short, the barrel aging brings the blend
to the peak of flavor.

Corojo
and Piloto Cubano filler.

What is the Corojo wrapper that is used in the
creation of the Aurora Barrel Aged cigars?
Corojo is a type of tobacco plant that was
grown originally only in the Vuelta Abajo Valley in Cuba. It's unique thin and
oily finish make it highly sought after for cigar wrappers. It is quite a
delicate plant to cultivate needing the right, natural area, to grow in. In the
last years there have been great strides in cultivating this prized leaf in the
Dominican Republic. These finely veined leaves, along with their fabulous
flavor, were the wrappers chosen for the Aurora Barrel Aged cigars. Aging these
rare Corojo wrappers in the sublime environment of oaken barrels allow for even
further development of their flavor.
